Well friends, I’ve told you it’s that time of year and so you know what we’ve been doing…yep, YARN SHOPPING!
Ordering for the fall is the best – the sales reps come and see you carting suitcases full of luscious samples of some of the most beautiful yarns. It’s all we can do to just take the Visa and say, “I’ll take everything!” This year we managed to restrain ourselves just a little bit but we do have some new and exciting yarns coming.
Here are just a few new yarns (and new to us) we’re bringing in:

- Calineau (Bergere de France)
- Indus Valley (Diamond)
- Ruby (Diamond)
- Sock Twins (Estelle)
- Uneek Sock Kits (Urth)
- Harvest (Urth)
- Alpaca Merino (Estelle)

- El Cielo (Cascade)
- Flutterby (James C Brett)

PLUS…
We heard you and have sourced some great options locally and from Canada…
- 100% Cashmere (Inspiration Yarn – a new Vancouver based company)
- Farm Fairy – Thanks for Mutton, Toats ma Goats and Ewe So Glamorous!
- Keryn is also doing up a colourway just for Once Upon a Sheep!
We’re also looking at a couple more Canadian yarns suggested by you in our survey.
In the meantime, we brought in some Cascade Cherub Baby (4ply and Aran) and they’re on the shelf already.
Cascade is also a yarn company that really knows how to do sock yarn. Cascade Heritage Silk in Peruvian tones is so beautiful. You’re going to want to try this out. Use it for socks or for a lovely shawl – the colours are lovely.
Stay tuned for more to come and in the meantime,
Happy knitting/crocheting!
