September 24, 2013 – Yarn Harvest Fun!

The staff of Once Upon A Sheep would like to say thanks to everyone who came to visit our shop during the two days of Yarn Harvest 2013! It was great to see familiar faces, meet up with new folks and hear about your fall knitting plans!

We appreciate the patience shown by everyone when the shop was full and the lines a little longer than we’re used to.

This year’s door prizes included a pair of Knitter’s Pride Cubics Interchangeable Circular Needle Tips & 24″ cord; a bag of accessories that included Soak, a needle gauge and stitch holders; and a cowl pattern along with 2 skeins of our new yarn, Estelle Alcazar. We hope the winners are enjoying their gifts! To everyone else, we hope you’re enjoying your purchases!

September 11, 2013 – Yarn Harvest 2013 Yarn Crawl

GET READY TO CRAWL! This year you get TWO DAYS to shop til you drop! FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH & SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21ST are the dates for Yarn Harvest 2013! You can read all the details on the FVKG Yarn Harvest blog or on the Yarn Harvest group page on Ravelry.

This is the fourth year for this annual event organized by the Fraser Valley Knitters’ Guild. There is no sign-up process involved and no fee! When you visit a participating shop you simply need to tell the cashier you’re a HARVESTER to receive a minimum of 10% off select items in that shop. As well, if you are a PK knitter (ask us if you don’t know), you’ll receive an additional 10% off your purchase!

Once Upon A Sheep will be open both days from 9am to 5pm, so you’ll have plenty of time to shop with us! We have lots of extra specials, goodies and surprises planned through-out both days. Come prepared for fun and don’t forget to bring your shopping bag!

Saturday evening there is a Dessert Social planned for all Harvesters at the hangar at the Canadian Museum of Flight in Langley, from 7pm to 9pm. It’s a chance to share your purchases with friends and maybe even win a fabulous door prize. You’ll need to RSVP the Yarn Harvest co-ordinators in order to attend, and can do so by emailing: yarnharvestcrawl@gmail.com

As the Canadian Museum of Flight is just a short hop over the Golden Ears Bridge, consider making us the spot to meet up with friends and do a little last minute shopping before heading over for the Dessert Social! Alternatively, if you aren’t planning on attending the social there are lots of great little restaurants in the area that we can direct you to.

It’s going to be a fun two days of shopping and meeting up with all kinds of like-minded souls, so start making your plans now and we’ll see you soon at Once Upon A Sheep in Maple Ridge, BC!

June 26, 2013 – CANADA DAY CLOSURE & SUMMER HOURS!

Just a quick reminder we will be open 10 am to 4 pm until Friday, June 28th and then we will be CLOSED on Saturday, June 29th for the Canada Day long weekend.

We re-open on Tuesday, July 2nd with slightly reduced hours for the summer – NOON to 4pm Tuesday through Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays. These hours remain in effect until September 3rd.

Thank you for understanding we do this to give our volunteers more time with their families during the summer months.

February 12, 2013 – MAD ABOUT EWE SALE!

IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR ONCE AGAIN – OUR ANNUAL MAD ABOUT EWE YARN SALE EVENT!

Friday February 15th & Saturday February 16th we’ll be open from 9 am to 5 pm for our annual MAD ABOUT EWE sale!

To prepare for this event we will be closed Tuesday February 12th, Wednesday February 13th and Thursday February 14th.

All novelty scarf yarns will be on sale, so if you love knitting scarves for family, friends (and yourself) – now is the time to stock up!

Mirasol Qina (alpaca/bamboo) and Miski (llama) are both on sale for $6.50 a skein. From Diamond Yarn Luxury Collection we have Tafi (llama/silk) marked down to $7.99 and Mulberry & Merino (merino/silk) for $5.99.

A favourite with our customers is Sirdar Country Style, and the 50gm balls are just $2.50 during our Mad About Ewe sale!
